Are Reality TV Shows Real at All?

Reality TV shows aren’t true to their name. In fact, reality TV should probably be called, “fake TV,” because so many of the scenes are contrived and staged. Nevertheless, one aspect of reality TV that’s very real is the bullying that takes place behind the scenes and on stage. Many of the contestants on reality TV shows are egged on by producers, who lie and say that someone called so-and-so bad names in order to elicit reactions and cause fights on camera. So, more often than not, producers on reality TV shows spread rumors to cause rifts between contestants.
Another thing that producers do to encourage bullying and cat fighting on reality TV shows is to ask the show’s hosts to insult the contestants in front of the camera. Ryan Dunkleman, who was the host of the show American Idol in the first season, admitted later on in his career that the reason why he left the show was because of the horrible way that the producers treated the young contestants. He said that the producers staged fights between the contestants and judges and put glycerin tears in their eyes. Dunkleman himself was asked to rub the judges’ insults in the contestants’ faces but he refused. Lo and behold, Dunkleman did not appear on the second season of American Idol.
Many of the scenes in reality TV shows are fake, and not just the fighting scenes. According to Evan Marriot, who starred on Joe Millionare, the make out scene that she is well-known for was completely fake. The producers used moaning sounds from a scene when she was getting a massage and fraudulently created a make out scene through editing. Marriot is embittered because despite of all of the things she has accomplished in her life, she will always be known as the girl who was making out in the woods.
Reality TV shows are not very popular with older audiences because of the childish antics of their contestants, but they are a big hit with younger audiences, who attract plenty of advertisers. The danger of reality TV is that many young people are easily influenced by these shows and go on to emulate the behavior they observe. For example, many schools around the world are reporting an increased incidence of violence, bullying, and shaming at their schools as a result of reality TV. This is particularly the case among women since there are so many reality TV shows based on the shaming and bullying of women.
Reality TV shows are encouraging and prioritizing the type of behavior that parents and school administrators are trying to prevent. Reality TV contestants call each other names, embarrass each other in front of everyone, and respond aggressively to threats. The young, impressionable girls who are often the biggest fans of reality TV shows think this behavior is acceptable because they see it on TV, and they go on to treat their peers this way. The victims end up suffering permanent psychological effects. Teasing and bullying can cause victims to develop low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and in severe cases, suicide.
In order to combat the negative effects of reality TV and to reveal the truth about the producers’ roles in staging scenes and provoking contestants, a talented Australian author named Vaughn Alaine-Marshall wrote a compelling novel called Überstar (www.uberstarthebook.com). This novel is not a fictional account based on imagination. Alaine-Marshall actually spoke with numerous reality TV show contestants in order to write this novel. It all started when one of his close family friends, a contestant on an Australian reality TV show, asked him to listen to his story. At the time, Alaine-Marshall was busy running a successful chiropractic practice and was not interested in hearing her story. Nevertheless, his friend begged him to listen, and once he started to hear bits of her story, he was shocked and knew he had to record what he was hearing.
It didn’t stop there. After Alaine-Marshall heard everything his friend had to say, many other people came forward anonymously, going as far as to break their confidentiality agreements in order to speak with Alaine-Marshall. What Alaine-Marshall heard was shocking, leading him to conclude that the reality TV business is a franchise of cruelty. He talked to everyone from the producers to the publicists to the contestants, learning that everyone played a part in the game. The contestants were desperate for their fifteen minutes of fame, while the masterminds and staff were simply out to make a buck. In his novel, Alaine-Marshall ties everything he heard from reality TV show contestants with his theories about the effects that these shows have on the minds of our youth.
If you’re looking for a gripping novel that gives you great insight into the state of our society and entertainment industry, look no further than Alaine-Marshall’s new novel, Überstar. Überstar is a page turner that will tempt you from cover to cover. If you’ve ever felt disgusted with how the contestants on a reality TV show were taunted by the judges or other contestants, or you simply want to understand why reality TV is dangerous to society, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this book. Even if you don’t watch reality TV, there are plenty of lessons to be learned by reading Überstar.

Australian author Vaughn Alaine-Marshall releases Überstar from Hendlin Books, an explosive look at the reality television. Based largely on reality shows such as American Idol, India has Talent and other successful reality shows. The author’s research included interviews with participants, producers and insiders from the world’s largest reality television shows. for more: http://www.uberstarthebook.com.au/

book review: A Journey into the Unknown

CHAPTER 10 NIGHTMARE ON MARE STREET

Mare Street, London, birth place of The Bastard. The eye opener, trough of all peaks that is assuming there were any real peaks before he relocated. The perfect hide out for such a stand out professional, harbouring some of the street’s finest; this would become his breeding ground. Everyday, a new lesson would be learned while creeping through the back streets of the back streets late at night amongst the filthiest of the filth- prostitutes, dealers, addicts, gangsters, hustlers, a bastard’s paradise. There were places where the police wouldn’t go through unless they really had to. Though never accepted as a true rebel, he never needed to be accepted, he never really needed anyone. Anyone who was to play a part would be treated as a paid professional, and paid. He would always come through as the untouchable, unstoppable though with a humble outer shell because he was ‘invincible’. Through the rainy of all rainy days he would still travel through in the dark not even concealing any treasure as if testing his ‘invisibility’ and when faced with danger, he would always just look into the future as usual as if beaming himself into it. He would stare in the eyes of any potential opposition man or beast and everything would be fine, apparently. He would claim that his battles in fact took place in a parallel reality, his world, where he would always be victorious. He would emerge unscarred when he travelled to wherever it was he went.

Many would say he was weak but who cared? Surely not him, he was young, played dumb and stayed on that rum which would of course take its toll.

Why would anyone ever have to play dumb especially in the streets? The bastard would occasionally wander into forbidden territory, other peoples paths- ‘other worlds’, in pursuit of his own fortune, since he would only know what he learned, nobody would tell or advice him where to go or what not to do, in fact there were no advisers, hence he would pose as the sheep, rather than the wolf to avoid scrutiny from the shepherds-the authorities, or other wolves.

At some point he would forget the little he knew about himself, the only thing to live for was the pelf, no credit cards or bank loans, and street credit would only get you through the streets and if possible keep you IN them. Of course, there would be a wave of depression waiting at every corner, the down fall would always be close by but never immediately in front or behind- all around, surrounding as did the demons and the now familiar stench of the ‘bastard balm’, for the calm until calm turned the enemy, holding back even his spirit and killing his passion.

The drive to rise to any occasion had been lost. Calling it quits was now a must, but after endless failure and the customary proclamation -”I’ve been cursed!”, the result was another hasty request for the now apparently almighty Rizzla ‘cigarette’ rolling papers.

Mare Street, to the bastard was a land of the living dead. The Bastard perceived an addict as the perfect example of a soul hindered by human desire, the mind trying to achieve the ‘highs’ of heaven, while the body is unconsciously craving the absolute peace and calm of death leaving the soul neglected most of the time. Pain would be the most effective cure. One would have to be knocked out of this unconscious state hence the stomach aches that the poor bastard must eventually face as his salvation would ideally include clean lungs and wealth of health.

For years without success, dark lords of the underground would try to gain control of his then seemingly vulnerable mind for the energy he could be granted access to owing to his good nature, persistence and knowledge about the virtues and humanity.

It seemed all but he would know how to use or even find this energy which he was now becoming aware of inside him. However, it wasn’t for him to find or use. In fact it was better hidden as the bastard would most likely have misused, if not exploited it. He had received energy from the spirit world that was unique to his path of travel, his life, what would be done with it would now be up to the source.

James Peterson at T.H.E HIP MAGAZINE‘s Book Review

This book was about so many things that the world seems to have forgotten about since the passing of the millennium. It’s about real life, humanity, being human, virtues, values and the need to become an individual of great value as opposed to just achieving success by any means necessary:to say the least about this awesome true crime series.

It’s quite surprising that this book though very vast, had only one character that happened to be portrayed as different individuals as he played different roles in his everyday life.

I liked this book because it brought back the reality of true crime and even life in an ever so subtle and sincere form. It was something completely different to what I expected it to be. The physical book itself does nothing to give the title away. Up until now I am still yet to discover where the ‘journey’ is heading but I was still very satisfied after reading it and content to wait for the next in the series. The book brings together so many things; crime, modern society and everyday life, night life, spirituality, success and the struggle, a bit of humour, a bit of tragedy, a bit of suspense and mystery, a bit of everything.

One would feel as if the story was being told to him by the author verbally, almost fearing what one would hear next or stumble upon as opposed to just feeling like one was digging into old archives of the London underworld for the usual and I must say, now old and played out body bags, murderers and jewel thieves and the like. It was a whole new approach to True Crime that really left me feeling refreshed after reading it.

If you would like to experience true crime in a way you’ve never done before or you would just like to read something new and refreshing and different from everything you’ve ever read before, you might want to read this one.

Review of Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard

If you consider yourself a serious network marketer, be sure to pick up a copy of Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring. If you aren’t willing to purchase a legendary book that costs one-third your monthly autoship from one of the industry’s great success masters, go find yourself another hobby because you don’t have the level of dedication to personal development that Mike will tell you it takes..

The central message of Magnetic Sponsoring is summed up well by its title. If you are a personal magnet, prospects will congregate around you and sponsoring them will be simple. To become a magnet, Mike argues that you must be able to solve other people’s problems either through unique knowledge or solutions. This is often known as Attraction Marketing. In attraction marketing you don’t promote your business opportunity directly. Rather you promote your unique mentoring, your knowledge, your system for success and your tools.

Doing this, requires that you offer value. Luckily there are ready solutions to the two core problems faced by network marketers- not enough leads and negative early cash flow. Learn the solutions and then transfer them to others. You become a trusted and valuable resource when you effectively teach a person to fix these problems. Distributors in every MLM company have these same two problems so don’t limit yourself to distributors in your company. Think about what would happen if you, from another company, could fix a problem that their upline couldn’t help them with? That is a powerful attraction formula. And, they are already sold on network marketing as a viable business. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?

Inside Magnetic Sponsoring, Mike Dillard shares tactics for how to become this valuable, confident mentor that will attract others like a magnet. The bottom line is education and practices. In order to lead, you first have to be better than those who will follow you. You will require both a superior mindset and a superior toolkit of solutions. When you commit to educating yourself, you gain something no one can ever take away and that you can pass on to thousands.

Let’s go back to the two chief problems of network marketers and how Mike Dillard addresses them in Magnetic Sponsoring. Mike will tell you that the best leads for your business are people already in the industry – namely other networkers. And what does Mike say about cash flow? You generate near-term cash by promoting tools that can help your leads – the network marketers. These people are buyers, not lookers. These people are already spending on products and company-sponsored training. You’ll have no trouble selling them a $50-500 dollar tool after having established your value. You capture a portion of this spending as an affiliate commission. Mike Dillard calls this a funded proposal system. This means that you cover the costs of your time and the marketing of your primary business via the affiliate commissions all the while deepening your relationship through enhanced value.

This review only touches upon the immense value contained in Mike Dillard 77 page ebook. Mike’s thinking is fresh and innovative and he has a relaxed yet authoritative writing style. Magnetic Sponsoring is a must for the serious network marketer at any stage in their career.

New Moon Now Showing

The 20th of November marks the beginning of another chapter in Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel. Twilight saga: New Moon finally is rolling as it premiers today on cinemas

Prior to the movie roll, three trailers were presented at different intervals on awards show. The first glimpse was previewed during the MTV Movie Awards for 2009 showing the dramatic transformation of Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, into a warewolf. In the said awards night, the first installment of the series won five awards and considered the star of the night.

The second Installment of the Twilight Saga wished to gain or at most exceed the expectations of viewers which have grown very much excited over the past few months awaiting New Moon.

Michael Sheen
From the warewolf Lucien who led the rebellion against the vampire Lords in Underworld he now takes the role of Aro, the leader of the Voluturi, a group considered as the government for vampires all over the world. Since the beginning of announcing him as Aro in the movie there have been speculations that this may ruin his career as he takes on the role from a lycan to a vamp. However it can’t be denied that most of the actors that became part of this franchise have surely gone way higher than they were before. Surely there’s forgiveness from lycan fans for Michael; but it will definitely earn him a new breed of fans at the vamps side.

More of Jacob Black
A background check on the movie Twilight will say that Robert Pattinson is a definite star however the sequel has shown more of Taylor Lautner. Let’s just say that the part which made the book boring actually made the movie exciting as the warewolf in Jacob gave a more exciting twist. Cheers to Taylor for a job well done.

Four stars
On its premier, the movie New Moon received a four star review however as things may go well for the fans the opposite may not be so from the outsiders. Firstly the film is lengthy and Robert may need more extra juice in his acting; then again on the positive side he’s a walking manikin and that’s what the Edward in the book asked for.

There’s still more search for people on their opinions on the movie. Still this is one to be watched especially after its improvement from the first part. ‘Till next time…ciao!
